Although Las Vegas has a reputation as the world’s premier adult playground, there is also an abundance of fun waiting to be had there for kids as well. Here are three ways to make the most out of your Las Vegas trip when you’re visiting with your children.
Go to Shark Tanks and Aquariums
Your kids will delight in the opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of marine life that call Vegas home. The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is an ideal place to start your exploration. Then, head over to the Shark Tank at the Golden Nugget. You can even take a slide through the tank to feel as if you are truly swimming with the sharks. Other attractions to consider adding to your itinerary include Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and the Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage or the SeaQuest Aquarium.
Visit Historical Sites
The Las Vegas area holds more than just the glitz and glamour of The Strip. You can make your trip to this desert paradise educational by taking the time to visit some of the region’s best historical sites. A great road trip idea is a visit to the awe-inspiring Hoover Dam. If you have a car that has enough room and good fuel economy, you can easily spend a day in the surrounding area. About 15 minutes from The Strip, the Springs Preserve offers 180 acres of historical exhibits, trails, and galleries that chronicle the birth of Las Vegas. Closer to The Strip, you will find the Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort.
Check Out the Rides
Las Vegas boasts a dizzying array of amusement park rides to enjoy while you’re in the area. Start your trip with a visit to the Circus Circus Adventuredome. This 5-acre indoor amusement park features a myriad of thrill rides mixed with tamer attractions for the little ones in your family. The High Roller wheel offers 360-degree views of the entire city from its fully enclosed cabins. Thrill-seekers will appreciate the excitement of the Big Apple Coaster at the New York New York hotel. Or, head to the end of The Strip for an exhilarating experience on the rides at the top of the Stratosphere.
